The shop is closed until the 16th of September, for the Boutique at EGA's Golden Gala, the 50th Anniversary Celebration! If you're in the Louisville area Labor Day weekend or the week after, stop in and see us. We'll be downtown at the Convention Center in the lower level.
Go ahead and place your order. Since the entire shop will be with us and I will be checking orders, we'll try to ship from Louisville after Sept. 1st and until Sept 5th. Travel home puts us back in the shop on the 10th to unload. We will then begin shipping Sept. 13th from the shop. Please indicate on the notes section of the shopping cart if your order needs to ship ASAP or if it can wait until the 13th.
The advantage of our doing the Seminar is that we'll have a dozen or more Trunk Shows coming in in August and, until they are packed, you can see lots of designs and products you might not otherwise get to see. For those of you who are not close enough to come shop, I'll try to post a daily update of the new arrivals and a link to where you can see the Trunk Show. Check every day to see what's new! These shows will be here at least a week after we come back so get these great designs while you can! Right now we have: Go take a look and then give us a call toll free with your order by the 20th of September! We've spoken with Joan Thomasson of Stitchin' Stuff about coming to teach a class in 2009. Joan is teaching in Louisville so we'll set a date for her class while we're there and we'll post that information just as soon as we get home. Joan's classes are limited to 24 students so be sure to contact us early if you're interested, this class will sell out.
New threads in the shop now! Rainbow Gallery introduced a new line called Silk Lame' Braid in January with new colors coming out in June. This is beautiful stuff, we just couldn't resist it, so all 42 colors are here now. The thread is a Silk/Rayon/Metalized Poly blend just a bit heavier than 2 strand of floss and a blending filament. Colors are beautiful (after all it is silk) and the thread behaves well. You can bet we'll see more colors of this one! We've added it to both the Thread Collector's Club and the Rainbow Gallery Thread, go take a look.
We've had Soy Luster from Dream House Ventures in the shop for a year, but just now have added it to the website. I stitched a piece with it and have used it in the Collector's Frames and can't say enough about this thread. Made from a byproduct of tofu production, Soy Luster is an all natural thread that is hand dyed in the American Southwest with a formaldehyde free process that leaves the thread soft to the touch and the colors clear and true. We have one customer who came in a week after her first purchase and said "I'm in love!". Give this great thread a try soon.
We've added the new colors from brown paper packages in both Silk & Ivory and Trio, from Gentle Art in both Sampler Threads and Simply Wool, and Weeks Dye Works floss. Check them out!
